Here is a pair of B&W CWM7.3 in-wall speakers we have just pre-wired for in a full home remodel in Danville, CA.  Our client didn’t want speakers showing in the room but did want exceptional sound.  We chose the B&W and came up with a plan to angle them behind the wall for the correct tow in for the sweet spot in the listening room.  The should sound great, image well and be invisible once custom grills are added.

I will post more pictures as the project comes along.

Here are a few pictures of the progress in Danville.  We are in process with rack placement and final wiring.  The Control 4 automation product is in, the amps are in along with a few other items.  Now the process of taming the wire monsters!

The wire we put in the wall prior to Sheetrock on comes out and is hooked up to the electronics.

The wire we put in the wall for speakers, control and signal  prior to Sheetrock now come out of the wall from a predetermined place. The rack is populated and we begin hook up.

Now to tame the wire beast!

Now to tame the wire beast!

From the front...still a work in progress.

When completed it will look very much like this rack located in a different area of the home. Neat, clean and organized!

NEW Power Amp coming from Krell!

Just announce, the KRELL Theater-7 multi channel power amp expressly designed for Home Theaters.

Krell Theater-7 $7,500.00

Krell Theater-7 $7,500.00

Krell iBias Class A amplifiers are the first to deliver the rich musicality of Class A amplifiers and the compromised dynamics of classic Krell amplifiers with greater efficiency and low power consumption than conventional Class A amplifiers.

Circuitry Highlights
Krell iBias Class A technology allows our latest amplifiers to run in full Class A mode to full power while minimizing heat generation.

The Theater 7 Amp uses iBias technology to maintain Class A operation up to 100 watts into 8 ohms for the left, right, and center channels and up to 50 watts for the four surround channels. This provides the critical front channels with high bias current to produce that lush, open Class A sound while also minimizing the heat output and power consumption of the whole amplifier.

The amplifier design uses Krell Current Mode technology that is fully differential and discrete in the critical gain stages. This results in a highly linear and extended frequency response, well beyond the range of hearing, for smooth effortless highs and tight high impact bass

Power Supply Highlights

The power supply consists of two 700VA toroidal transformers and 160,000uF of capacitance. This is shared among all the channels so all of that power is available to the channels with the most demand.

In real world conditions the left, right, and center channels require the lion’s share of the power so this gives the Theater 7 a more effective power supply than other amplifiers that have smaller dedicated power supplies for each channel.

Feature Highlights

Network connectivity brings convenience,
monitoring, and reporting to end users from any smartphone, tablet, or laptop.
Amplifier configuration options include display brightness timeout and inactivity timeout. The inactivity timeout conserves energy by placing the amplifier in stand-by when there is no signal for longer than the selected time period. Firmware updates can also be initiated directly from the web server.
Output current, fan status, and operating temperature are monitored in real time for conformance with preset limits. Any faults are reported on the front panel and also on the web server interface. Additionally, the amplifier will send notification of any operational anomalies to the e-mail addresses entered on the web server interface.

Once again the great engineering and high performance for the dollar products are recognized by the press!!

Tone Magazine-One of the consumer electronics industries leading audio publications, TONE Audio Magazine forges the link between music and high quality audio reproduction with a 50/50 balance between the two.

Bowers & Wilkins engineers at Steyning Research Establishment continue to apply their proven expertise across all loudspeaker categories. Now the Bowers & Wilkins two new game-changing models for the marine / outdoor sound market.

Marine 6 and Marine 8

For some time now, yacht builders have had to accept the status quo in marine application speakers with a compromise for reliability in place of higher performance. This is certainly no longer the case with the introduction of Bowers & Wilkins new Marine 6 and Marine 8. B&W has developed two flush mount loudspeakers that fully comply with the extremely rigid marine IP66 regulations, while living up to the acoustic performance and industrial design standards expected of all Bowers & Wilkins products.

The Marine 6 and Marine 8 speakers feature metal salt-resistant grilles and all screws are marine-grade stainless steel. The driver chassis’ uses a non-corroding rigid polymer and the tweeter dome has a rear support to prevent permanent deformation when using pressured fresh water to wash off salt accumulations. The speaker systems are fully encased to protect electric components and all surfaces from corrosion. As denoted by their model numbers, the speakers’ bass/midrange driver dimensions are 6″ and 8″ with both featuring 1″ soft dome tweeters.

The result of Bowers & Wilkins intensive investigation and engineering execution is that the designs are extremely rugged and perform with a higher level of acoustic performance than is typically found in marine application speakers. B&W’s Marine 6 and Marine 8 models are ideal for use on fresh and salt water vessels, but equally applicable for outdoor use in residential applications, even those situated in challenging seaside locations.

Marine 6 – $325 each, sold in pairs
Marine 8 – $425 each, sold in pairs
