NEW Power Amp coming from Krell!

Just announce, the KRELL Theater-7 multi channel power amp expressly designed for Home Theaters.

Krell Theater-7 $7,500.00

Krell Theater-7 $7,500.00

Krell iBias Class A amplifiers are the first to deliver the rich musicality of Class A amplifiers and the compromised dynamics of classic Krell amplifiers with greater efficiency and low power consumption than conventional Class A amplifiers.

DESIGN

Circuitry Highlights
Krell iBias Class A technology allows our latest amplifiers to run in full Class A mode to full power while minimizing heat generation.

The Theater 7 Amp uses iBias technology to maintain Class A operation up to 100 watts into 8 ohms for the left, right, and center channels and up to 50 watts for the four surround channels. This provides the critical front channels with high bias current to produce that lush, open Class A sound while also minimizing the heat output and power consumption of the whole amplifier.

The amplifier design uses Krell Current Mode technology that is fully differential and discrete in the critical gain stages. This results in a highly linear and extended frequency response, well beyond the range of hearing, for smooth effortless highs and tight high impact bass

Power Supply Highlights

The power supply consists of two 700VA toroidal transformers and 160,000uF of capacitance. This is shared among all the channels so all of that power is available to the channels with the most demand.

In real world conditions the left, right, and center channels require the lion’s share of the power so this gives the Theater 7 a more effective power supply than other amplifiers that have smaller dedicated power supplies for each channel.

Feature Highlights

Network connectivity brings convenience,
monitoring, and reporting to end users from any smartphone, tablet, or laptop.
Amplifier configuration options include display brightness timeout and inactivity timeout. The inactivity timeout conserves energy by placing the amplifier in stand-by when there is no signal for longer than the selected time period. Firmware updates can also be initiated directly from the web server.
Output current, fan status, and operating temperature are monitored in real time for conformance with preset limits. Any faults are reported on the front panel and also on the web server interface. Additionally, the amplifier will send notification of any operational anomalies to the e-mail addresses entered on the web server interface.

This is a problem we hear all the time.  To follow is a very nice solution that one of our Lead Tech’s , Andrey Pereverzev came up with.

This is a system we installed a few years ago. Recently our client came to us looking for a couple of upgrades.  New TV and better processor.  The cabinet was staying though and so we had to get creative.

Elite-TV-REFIT-1

First we removed the old Loewe TV.

Then we began framing a new support structure.

elite-tv-refit-3

Then some plywood for rigidity and to block light bleed from the rear.

Now we add the Articulating Mount wall panel.

elite-tv-refit-5

We now mount the NEW Elite 60 inch flat panel to the Articulating arm and pull it forward to meet the front edge of the custom cabinet.

Now for the electronics. Add new Krell Foundation pre/processor and a Marantz Blu Ray to the existing Rotel amp and B&W 805’s and HTM Center Channel speaker. We also replaced the Sub Woofer with a Bowers & Wilkins unit!

We made a trim piece to fill the gap at the bottom of the TV opening and here is our finished project! Looks great off and even better on! The Krell Foundation and the new Bowers & Wilkins Sub really take this system to a new and much higher level! In short…IT ROCKS!!!

From the aesthetics to the sound, Giancarlo Massironi absolutely loved the Digital Vanguard Integrated Amplifier especially the Digital connectivity and performance. The digital section of the Digital Vanguard Integrated Amplifier is the same as the newly introduced Vanguard Universal DAC and Vanguard Digital Preamplifier.

Here are a few excerpts:

“I love the look of the new design of the Krell Vanguard and the way the front is machined out of solid Aluminum with the Krell logo embossed on the front so it stands out nicely and gives off a cool blue glow when turned on.”

“This time round Krell have thought about the heat dissipation that really made the older KAV-400Xi like a radiator and put in two small fans at the rear of the unit to suck out the heat. They are very quiet when in operation and you cannot hear them when on, and it keeps the amp a lot cooler than the older 400Xi, which is a good thing.”

“The Krell storms through this one and takes hold of the speakers with an iron fist, the bass is so fast and dynamic, energizing the room with some serious SPL that it does not seem to even feel that it is breaking a sweat, it just gets louder and louder with the room and your ears giving out rather than the amplifier or speakers, just an incredible experience.”

The good people at Sound & Vision magazin have awarded the Krell Chorus 7200, 7 channel power amp a TOP PICK AWARD!!

Stereo_Front_sm

David Vaughn loved the sound and the magazine awarded the Chorus 7200 one of their coveted Top Picks honor. David also used the Foundation Processor as part of the review and lamented, “…when I put my Marantz back in my rack, I felt like I needed a prescription for Prozac to fight the depression I was facing.”

Here are a few more quotes from the review:

“The hardest part of reviewing audio equipment is putting what you hear into words that can impart upon the reader just how impressive (or uninspired) a particular piece of equipment was to your ears. In the case of the Chorus 7200-and Foundation-it was six weeks of audio bliss for me and my family.”

“…dynamic performance was readily apparent with every Blu-ray I threw at the Krell. The beach landing in Saving Private Ryan exploded into my room, with each discrete effect placed precisely in the soundstage. And the 7200 brought an uncanny immediacy to softer passages, such as the opening monologue recited by Morgan Freeman… where it truly sounded as if Freeman was sitting in the room with me … Impressive is an understatement.”

“Class A amp makers tout their product’s ability to re-create voice, and here the Krell truly shined. Take the opening of fun’s “Some Nights,”… With this amp in the chain, Ruess’ melody came alive with seemingly limitless dynamics, 3D-like soundstage, and amazing detail.”

And a nice bonus on the sound of the Foundation – “The Foundation…it’s by far the best sounding. The soundstage is so convincing, you can’t really tell where the speakers are in the room, and the subwoofer integration is by far the best I’ve ever experienced.”

On the newsstands now is the February/March, 2015 issue of Sound &Vision magazine in which they award their Top Picks of the Year. We are proud to announce that the Foundation processor has received this outstanding award.

A few excerpts:

“Hard to believe this pre/pro actually broke new ground for affordability among Krell’s offerings, but its superb sound quality really does put it in its own class.”

“Switching to the Foundation from my moderately priced but sonically  accomplished Marantz AV7005 and especially from the previously reviewed Integra DHC-60.5…was informational. It was as if the entire system had been changed”

” When watching the local news becomes enticing because the anchor’s voice sounds so lifelike and transparent, you know something special is happening.”

Congrats to our friends at Krell!!!
